Privacy Policy

What we collect
- Account info — name, email, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Profile — your name, year in school, and date of birth (used to check the age requirement; we don't independently verify identity), plus optional school, major, and minor.
- Conversations — messages, questions, uploaded homework images and documents, and text extracted from those uploads.
- Usage — basic activity such as sessions and streaks, used to power progress reports.
- Payment — handled by Stripe. We receive a customer reference and status, never full card numbers.
How we use it
To provide the mentor, personalize explanations and practice, remember progress, generate study summaries, keep accounts secure, and process billing. Progress and focus-time figures are estimates. Automated safety screening may flag conversations for staff review and show crisis resources. Screening can miss or misclassify concerns and is not an emergency service. Flagged conversations are excluded from study summaries and insights.
What we don't do
We do not sell your data, and we do not show third-party advertising. Your conversations are used to operate the service for you — not traded or rented to anyone.
Service providers we share with
Providers process data needed for the features you use: AI providers receive study context to generate mentor responses and summaries, voice providers process speech inputs or outputs, Stripe handles payments, and email providers deliver account messages and reports. Their processing is also subject to their applicable terms and privacy policies.
Age requirement
Ntrino Mentor is for adults 18 and older, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. The date of birth entered at sign-up is used to check this and is not independently verified. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we close it and delete its information. If you held a type of account we no longer offer, you can still view it, cancel billing, and ask us to delete its information at any time.
Security
Ntrino Mentor uses hashed passwords, account access controls, and encryption for uploaded files and sensitive settings. HTTPS protects data in transit when the service is deployed with HTTPS. These measures do not mean that all stored learning data is encrypted or that every security risk can be prevented.
Retention
Access to uploaded files expires after seven days, and scheduled cleanup removes expired file data. Text extracted from files can remain in conversations after the original file expires. Conversations, learning records, and account data are retained while needed to provide the service; they are not automatically erased after seven days. You can request deletion of your account and associated data, subject to applicable record-keeping requirements.
Your choices
You can access or update your information from your account, and email us to request a copy or deletion of your data.
